Hey Everyone -
It’s official! Pony has signed NFL great Randy Moss! Check out the Press release below!
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ALL-WORLD RECEIVER RANDY MOSS CHOOSES PONY INTERNATIONAL
Pony to Design Moss Signature Footwear & Apparel Line
SAN DIEGO, April 15 /PRNewswire/ — The 2007 National Football League season has seen many defenses try and fail to cover the prolific wide receiver, Randy Moss, of the New England Patriots. Pony International is confident it can cover Randy Moss from head-to-toe. Today, Pony International is excited to announce the company has agreed to an exclusive partnership to design the Randy Moss signature athletic footwear and clothing line. The first wave of Pony’s Moss branded gear will arrive in stores August 1, 2008.
“By signing a premier athlete the caliber of Randy Moss, this immediately puts the rest of the competition on notice that Pony is determined to do whatever it takes to be a player in the marketplace,” commented Pony International’s Chief Executive Officer Kevin Wulff. “Pony is definitely back in the game in a big way. Not a lot of people can cover Randy Moss, but we feel we can cover him, top to bottom. The partnership with Moss allows us to supply athletes of all levels with top-notch equipment and put them on an even playing field with their competition.
“I get approached to endorse a ton of stuff each year that really doesn’t mesh with who I am or what is important in my life, this agreement with Pony lets me help to give back and help the next wave of young players coming up,” said Randy Moss, wide receiver for the New England Patriots. “I really appreciated the way Pony presented their concepts for my signature brand and wanted to make a great performance line of clothes and shoes for the serious competitor to the weekend warrior.”
The new Moss collection by Pony is a comprehensive line of performance shoes built around Randy Moss’s needs as a professional athlete on and his passions off of the field. The inspiration for the Moss 1 Molded Signature Cleat was derived from Moss’s love of Bass Fishing, which also parallels Randy’s ability to bait NFL’s defensive backs. From the design on a mackerel lure highlighted by progressively faded pattern to the carbon fiber inspired heel counter as seen on high-end fishing rods, the distinctive Moss green color used throughout the line will electrify the shoes, as Randy Moss electrifies the game. Kyle Pulli, VP of Design at Pony, sums the new line up best by saying, “The Moss Collection is a perfect example of Pony’s indisputable focus on the uncompromising performance benefits and features.” The collection spans all levels of play, including an affordable entry-level Molded Rubber Cleat.
“Pony will launch a multi-faceted, innovative, viral content driven marketing initiative,” added Pony Vice President of Marketing, Benjamin Woo. “The marketing campaign will look to utilize both traditional and non-traditional mediums to support the company’s creative messaging and build consumer awareness and excitement of the Pony Moss collection.”
Randy Moss continues to leave his mark on the NFL record books and establish himself as one of the most explosive play-makers in NFL history. Evidence of this is the now single season record of 23 touchdowns he scored in 2007, beating Hall-of-Famer Jerry Rice who held the previous record. In December of 2005, this five-time Pro-Bowler became the 25th player in NFL history to surpass the 10,000 receiving yards mark, reaching the mark in his 124th career game — making him the fourth-fastest to 10,000 yards in NFL history.

PONY has some pretty insane news that’s about to drop any day now…
There have been plenty of rumors out there but we will put those all to rest
as early as today or Tuesday…
Couple hints…
When a defensive back wakes up in a cold sweat, you can bet that this guy is
the one haunting his dreams. Lean, long and incredibly athletic, this guy
was born to beat pass coverages. He has world-class sprinter speed and
can jump with anyone in the NFL, not to mention the NBA. He is the most
imposing athlete ever to play his position.
Here’s one more…

Hey Y’all.
Asian Thunder want to pay his respects to Chocolate Thunder aka Darryl Dawkins and Spud Webb, two of Pony’s Iconic, legendary all-time greats. Darryl Dawkin’s larger-than-life personality was on full display as he recently appeared at the Macy Herald’s Square Foot Locker in the Big apple. Signing photos, memorabilia and his limited edition signature Pony Uptowns, Choc Thunder looked like he could lace up today and throw down some of rim rattling dunks.
Spud Webb, the shortest player every to win the Slam dunk contest was recently back in Atlanta. At 5’ 6’, Spud defied gravity with his 46” vertical and creative style. Wowed fans lined up to take photos, get autographs and a glimpse of his limited edition signature Pony City Wings Lo - made to the exact specs as the original Pony’s he wore back in the day.
Good to see you guys - and thanks for the memories.

I first heard of ‘Iller Than Theirs‘ when rapper Tone Tank hit me with an email saying that both he and Kray, of Brooklyn rap group ‘Iller Than Theirs‘, were huge fans of the Pony City Wing. I thought “Yeah, Yeah,” cause I get tons of emails from people saying that they love our sneakers, trying to get free kicks, but there was something different about this email. As I read on, Tone said, “If you don’t believe me peep our album cover.” Well, I did, and in the top center of the cover of their self-titled ‘Iller Than Theirs‘ album was a drawing of a hi-top City Wing. Within a day I was on the phone with Tone and his thick Brooklyn accent. He was explaining to me things such as the schematics of Iller Than Theirs, which is part of a larger rap group called Nuclear Family, which is made up of Iller, Junk Science, Scott Thorough, Probe, and J. Howells Werthman.
Yeah, I know, it’s a little hard to get your head around. Tone also explained how he stumbled upon the City Wing years back while he was spending some time on the west coast. He brought it back to Brooklyn where he put Kray and the rest of his crew onto it. Before he knew it, he and Kray were in fierce competition collecting any City Wing that even remotely fit their feet. No joke.
By the end of our conversation I felt like I had been along on this journey with Tone and Kray, so I introduced the idea of doing a PONY-ILLER THAN THEIRS-NUCLEAR FAMILY-City Wing. Within two days my email was flooded with designs for the sneaker, all done in Tone’s trademark notebook paper-hand drawn style, using past show flyers and excerpts from his sketchbooks. So, keep your eyes peeled, because we will be doing some special giveaways of this limited edition sneaker, which is in production as my fingers type these words.
In the meantime, get yourself acquainted with ILLER THAN THEIRS by downloading their song ‘The Same‘ featuring Masta Ace.

Hey Pony Peeps!
AsianThunder here (aka marketing dude). Wanted to share some cool stuff with you guys. Check out our new tv spots - Pony’s first in nearly 15 years. Hopefully, you laugh at the right moments. Heck hopefully you will just laugh. Pony is trying to keep it real and we want you to know that we are back - and we are here to compete with the Big 3 again in the athletic shoe market. We also want you to realize it’s just shoes, not life and death so we wanted to have some fun and poke some fun at some of the most recognized TV spots created over the last couple years. Check em out - and let me know what you think.
Our spots were shot in a sound stage in LA over the course of 12 hours. JAY BRANTLEY: Jay (’Boogie’) and DOUG TAIT started off the day warming up and showing off some serious hoops skiills. Jay Boogies’s handles were off the hook. I tried to show off my own skills and Jay Boogie was impressed. I think he was being kind. Doug Tait was quite the trooper as we dumped over 300 paris of shoes on his head. That was not special effects. And we did more than one take. He had hair when we started.
Willie Warren, our football guy, actually played for the University of Miami Hurricanes as a D1 wide reciever. He worked up quite a sweat as we put him thru 4 hours of running, jumping, catching balls, taking Pony shoes to face. Yours truly, AsianThunder, even had the chance to catch a few balls from the Jugs machine himself. Way cool.
The day finally ended with ADAMO PALLADINO, our soccer guy writing “determination” on a glass backboard for about 2 hours. Who said making tv commericals isn’t exciting and glamorous. These spots will air on stations like Fox Sports, ESPN, MTV, BET, VH-1, TNT, FX, Spike, MSG just to name a few in March/April.
Oh - and be sure to check the “making of” to see some of the fun behind the scenes activies that went on during the shoot. It’s all on PonyTV!

The spread is dedicated to the NC State Wolfpack that pulled off an unheard-of tournament run! Pack Power! Most of the players from that team
were running the floor in Uptowns.
Oh, and not to mention, Eric Gordon is on the cover… Kid is ridiculous!
